COVID-19 UPDATE – June 8, 2020

Weekly Safety Topic:

Facial Coverings
On May 29th Governor Inslee issued additional guidance for Washington State workers. As of next Monday, June 8th, it will be a state requirement for all Simpson employees to wear facial coverings. These covering can be homemade, or factory made. On the 3rd and 4th, you will be issued company provided face coverings. You will have the choice of a courtesy style mask or a continuous sock style. If you chose to wear a homemade facial covering it must meet the below minimum requirements as well as not have any offensive graphics or words. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a facial covering, you will need to furnish a doctor note. Employees and visitors are required to wear facial coverings once passing through the main gate. The only time your facial covering can be removed is if you work alone in an office or have high wall partitions (six feet and there is no in-person interaction) or if you are in lunch/break areas and maintain a 6 foot physical distance.

  • “Reusable cloth face covering that fully covers mouth and nose are required for employees covered by Governor Executive Order”

PLEASE REMEMBER
社会疏远不仅需要发生在工作场所内,而且需要在停车场发生。这也应该包括从停车场行走。

IMPORTANT SHARED WORK INFORMATION!!!

Employees receiving cash in lieu of taking vacation and or PTO, do NOT need to report this as income when filing their Shared Work claim.

在线申请:访问您的好处的最快方法是在线申请。就业安全部门已更新其网站,以便更容易使用。

The No. 1 thing Washington state residents are doing wrong is not filing a claim each week.

  1. File on a different day. This is a big ask, but it will help a neighbor in need: If you can afford to wait a couple extra days to get paid, please file after Monday. This will allow those who need the benefit most to file and get paid first.
  2. File late at night, or early in the morning. You can file online and by phone 24/7. Traffic is lowest late at night to early in the morning (11 p.m. to 6 a.m.).
  3. 尝试在关闭电话上提交。在下午6点之后通过自动电话系统提交您的每周索赔。(800-318-6022)

While HR is happy to help you with your Shared Work, we are hearing positive results from the employees that are filing online and by phone and they are getting their money way faster than those we are faxing info for.
